The like-minded:

Clicked during New Year Celebrations in 2008 at Mamalla Resorts, Mahabalipuram. Such outings are a platform for volunteers across programmes, and from different teaching centres to meet up and get to know each other personally.

When volunteers meet their children:

Every programme when initiated at a new teaching centre kicks off with an icebreaker. Playing fun games establishes the rapport between volunteers and children. Clicked during the launch of Make a Difference @ Welfare Education Trust in July 2008.

Seeing the difference:

Make a Difference is a unique programme that incorporates learning with kinesthetic activities to teach English. A syllabus meticulously developed by EZ Vidya adopts the Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing (LSRW) methodology to instill the basics of the language into these first generation learners.

Bridging the gap through quality education:

Igniting young minds by creating a platform for them to explore the nuances of the Computer. A carefully drafted syllabus takes these children to advanced programming languages through the basics. Clicked at SOS Villages, Tambaram in August 2007.

Environmentally aware youngsters:

Realising the impacts of global warming, Bhumians have been actively taking measures to create awareness, and show in action the need to act against climate change. Clicked at the PWD Park, Kotturpuram in December 2008.

Bhumi Chennai

BHUMI is a non-profit youth volunteer organisation of students and young professionals working with destitute children in and around Chennai.

We believe that the under-privileged children whom we work with are the latent potential India will need for the future.

We believe that today’s youth empowering the next generation through education would assure India a better future.

Our work for the environment emphasises the need to act against climate change. We believe, if not for immediate action, there simply is no future for India or human life!
